Brookhaven Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Receptionist to join our team! As the first point of contact for our clients and their beloved pets, this position is essential to providing an exceptional experience at our busy veterinary practice. Hours of Operation:
Monday – Friday: 7:30 AM – 7:00 PM
Saturday: 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM
Closed Sundays
Hourly Wage: $15.00 – $19.00 per hour, negotiable based on experience

Key Responsibilities
As a Veterinary Receptionist, your duties will include but are not limited to:
Client & Patient Communication:
Greet and check-in clients and their pets with a warm and compassionate demeanor.
Answer incoming calls, provide accurate information, and schedule appointments.
Provide clients with instructions regarding appointments, surgeries, and procedures.
Follow up with clients to ensure post-care instructions are understood and help schedule follow-up visits.
Appointment Scheduling & Management:
Manage the appointment scheduling system, ensuring accurate records and a well-organized daily schedule.
Confirm appointments and manage cancellations or rescheduling as needed.
Monitor and manage patient flow to ensure timely services for all pets.
Administrative Support:
Maintain accurate client and patient records within our practice management software.
Process client payments, issue invoices, and handle billing inquiries.
Assist with maintaining inventory levels and ordering office supplies.
Customer Service & Problem Resolution:
Provide exceptional customer service, addressing any concerns or issues clients may have with professionalism and empathy.
Manage and resolve client complaints or concerns in a timely manner, escalating when necessary to the appropriate team member.
Collaborative Team Support:
Work closely with veterinary staff, including technicians and veterinarians, to ensure efficient hospital operations.
Assist in managing hospital flow by coordinating between clients and medical teams.
Ensure a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk area.

Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate who has:
Experience:
Previous experience in a veterinary clinic, animal hospital, or human healthcare setting is highly preferred.
Ability to provide excellent customer service and manage sensitive client interactions.
Strong multitasking skills, capable of managing phone calls, clients, and scheduling simultaneously.
Proficiency with office software (Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite) and/or veterinary practice management software is a plus.
Skills:
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage a fast-paced environment.
Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
Compassion for animals and the ability to work well in a team-oriented, pet-focused environment.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree in a related field is a plus.
