Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Work Shift: Days (United States of America) Schedule: Monday-Friday; 7:45 AM – 5:00 PM Address: 325 Folly Rd., Suite 102A, Charleston, SC 29412 Job Summary: Greets, instructs, directs and schedules patients and family members. Work with all patients to schedule appointments that best meet their needs. Assist patients with the selection of a primary care clinician stressing the importance of continuity with a primary care clinician. Receptionist will accurately handle prescription requests, medical chart information, schedule referrals with other physician offices and ensure that insurance referrals are made if required. Answers the telephone and directs calls to the appropriate party. The receptionist must be pleasant at all times, well-groomed and able to multi-task without showing stress to the public. The receptionist should coordinate care with other care team members to provide exceptional patient service. The receptionist is responsible for collecting co-payments and deductibles at the time of service and accurately posting CPT and ICD-9 codes and their associated charges and payments in the computer; balancing same with the computer printout at the end of the day and preparing the daily deposit. Receptionist should be proficient with the Practice Management System and the Electronic Health Record system. Minimum Qualifications: Education: High School diploma or GED Experience: At least one year in a medical office strongly preferred. Licensure/Certification: N/A Primary Source Verification (if applicable): N/A Knowledge/Skills: Strong patient-centered focus. Effective verbal and written communications skills. Ability to work as part of a clinical team. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the public. Ability to organize and manage competing priorities. Ability to problem solve and show good judgment. Skill in greeting patients and answering the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner. Ability to speak clearly and concisely. Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instruction. Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetic or numeric systems and ability to key data into medical computer system accurately. Must be able to balance charges and payments to end of day reports. Other: Contacts: Physicians, coworkers and patients.
