Job Title: Phlebotomist Cost Center: 301191247 Eau Claire-Lab-Phlebotomy Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Employee Type: Regular Work Shift: See Job Description for detail (United States of America) Job Description: The Phlebotomist greets and instructs our patients on sample collection procedures and performs blood and urine collection procedures utilizing standard collection methods. The individual must follow strict patient identification policies including verification of specimen labels applied to patient samples. The Phlebotomist has continuous patient contact and is the laboratorys ambassadors to our patients and must follow applicable organizational policies. Work Shift: Typically 8:45 am – 5:15 pm Monday – Friday, but will vary occasionally based on department need. Will have the possibility of occasional weekend hospital shifts in the future. This position may be eligible for a sign on bonus! JOB QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation. Minimum Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred/Optional: Successful completion of a post-secondary medical terminology course. EXPERIENCE Minimum Required: None Preferred/Optional: One year phlebotomy experience with venipuncture and capillary puncture. Knowledge of medical terminology or exposure to a medical environment. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position. Minimum Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire. Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
