University Anesthesiologists is seeking a full time Procedure Nurse (Medical Assistant) to join our growing practice at UT Medical Center. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of clinical experience, proficiency with EMR systems, and a strong understanding of clinical operations. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. As a Procedure Nurse you will play a crucial role in supporting providers and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities:
Patient Assessment and Preparation:
Conducts thorough pre-procedure assessments of patients two days prior to procedure, including appropriate hold of blood thinners, no active infection or current antibiotic use, and notation of authorization of insurance.
Ensure patients are adequately prepared for their procedures by answering and returning any phone calls regarding upcoming appointments.
Collect vital signs and prepare patient in appropriate position for procedure.
Procedural Assistance and Support:
Prepare procedure room, equipment (ultrasound, fluoroscopy machine), supplies, and medications.
Control equipment during procedure as advised by the provider.
Ensure a sterile environment, as appropriate.
Provide patient support and reassurance before and throughout the procedure, addressing any questions or concerns and notifying provider as necessary.
Documentation and Communication:
Accurately document pre-procedure assessments (AAA checks).
Complete post-procedure phone calls as scheduled and document using the provided template.
Use the messaging tool in the EMR to communicate and relay any patient questions to the appropriate provider.
Upload ultrasound and fluoroscopy imaging for the week to the patient medical record.
Upload patient procedure report from PowerChart to the medical record.
Inventory Management:
Medications and supplies appropriately stocked in supply cabinet and procedure room.
Complete weekly inventory management of medications and supplies.

Treats coworkers and patients with respect.
Demonstrates a positive attitude when there is change in workload, office policy or processes.

Requirements
Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a clinical setting.
Proficiency with EMR systems and understanding of medical documentation.
Experience with pre-authorizations preferred.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and be adaptable to changing priorities.
Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) is required.
